Salvaging

Salvaging is permitted at the metal and wood piles every Friday from 8 am to 2:30 pm. 

YES:

• Tell the scale attendant that you are here to salvage

• Sign a waiver once a year

• Pay $10/week or $18/month for the wood pile

• Pay $146 per ton for the metal pile

• Drive through the scale separately for the metal and wood you salvage

• Wear gloves and closed-toed shoes

• Keep dogs and kids in the car

• Be kind to other salvagers and Transfer Station staff

NO:

• Standing or climbing on the piles

• Power tools 

• Smoking
