Styrofoam is NOT recyclable in Teton County, Idaho.
WHY?
Styrofoam is generally not recyclable in the United States because it is light weight, bulky, difficult to clean, and breaks up easily, which creates litter. Recycling styrofoam is not cost-effective, and there is little end market for recycled styrofoam.
What can I do to reduce waste from envelopes with windows?
Encourage restaurants to use alternative packaging for takeout.
Opt for re-usable cups and plates.
Use brown paper or bubble wrap for packing rather than packing peanuts.
