NO Oil Containers

Oil Containers are NOT recyclable in Teton County, Idaho. 

NO:

• Motor oil containers

• Plastic peanut butter jars (glass is okay)

• Plastic oil jars (glass is okay)

WHY?
Plastic jars that contained oily substances are nearly impossible to thoroughly clean. They create contamination in Teton County's plastic recycling. Motor oil containers often contain toxic materials that our recycling operation cannot handle. 

Glass peanut butter and cooking oil jars are recyclable, because Teton County, Idaho does not sell glass to a recycling company. Instead, Teton County crushes glass and re-uses it locally.
